Price of Progress

The Price Of Progress

More houses built, more bushland gone
There’s so much building going on
As progress hum’s it’s funeral song
Those trees all disappear

I’ve lived in Perth a great long
It is a favourite place of mine
It’s growing larger all the time
And opens up to fear

It wasn’t but three years ago
The roos were everywhere you know
But now as city starts to grow
Their home has been destroyed

People driving. Going mad
They hurt these kangaroo’s real bad
I see them dying, it’s so sad
As me I get annoyed

This is the tale of the human race
Destruction's always in one’s face
Kangaroos dying without no grace
These guys they do erase
