Memories

Memories fade away
And although we try to deny it
People come and go
Bring joy and happiness
And leave scars and pain
And sooner or later are forgotten
Like all the rest.

But, you are not like the rest.
You came like a blessing
When I needed it most.
You’re not just a memory
That fades away;
You’re a star that stays
In the sky for millions of years.

I will always remember
Those beautiful brown eyes
Staring into my soul,
And the unusual laugh
So distinct and original
Making my day brighter
Even among the rainy clouds.
